Carhartt is very durable, the best made. The hip length side zippers make it so easy to get in and out.
I had a pair of these coveralls for years, and had finally worn them out. Time for a new pair, Carhartt are so well made that was the only brand he was interested in.

easy on the back and shoulders
I have to wear overalls for at least 8 hrs a day working and walking outside at night most of that time. Climbing up and down,in and out of trucks as well. There may be warmer overalls more deserving of the artic label but they'll be a lot heavier. That weight takes it's toll on you by the end of a work week. That's where I fell in love with the carhartt extremes. They provide adequate warmth and feel a lot lighter than the traditional canvas insulated overalls. They also seem superior in both wind and rain protection. After starting to wear these back and shoulder pain isn't a problem. And these kept me comfortably warm with layering in windy 15-20 degree nights. I'd say they run true to size. If you don't want them baggy order the size you wear regularly. A size up seems adequate for wearing heavy layering underneath. Just depends on if you like baggy or tight, long or short.
