Of course, Carhartt is quality, but, expects everyone to have long torsos and arms
Sorry, disappointed, comparing to my old one...
Even in the small is unwieldy for driving (hunches up around shoulders, if not carefully situated, can hinder shifting, even). I first ordered the large, first time ever getting such, because of my chest measurements and those listed. It had good clearance for a quilted flannel or heavy hoodie under, but, the sleeves were too long (naturally, as I'm not a large person) and it was like a half-trench-coat. So, I handed that off to family (thinking, "My old one was great, and this one's an ARCTIC EXTREME.") and ordered the medium. Still the same problems, so, gave that to my taller son and tried again with the small. It's still long, and a fitted tight with just a flannel under, but, at least now I can function in it.
I love now having inside pockets, but, the exterior breast pockets are a good bit smaller than the old ones, can barely close over a pen and can't fit a pack of cigarettes.
Lengths (particularly sleeves!) would be nice in the measurements!
These are incredibly stiff (and moving in them is noisy), which can be beaten out some, but, with the extra fabric of orangutan sleeves, there's only so much that can do. I also seem to feel more chill through this one without a flannel (and it's not that cold out yet!) than the old Carhartt I've worn for the last decade+ (similar look, tan, was aged when I got it). Had I worn one of these out in the cold (was gauging by my old one), and for driving, first, I probably wouldn't have bought any. Hopefully, when bundled (and with the hood) and broken in a bit more, it'll perform better in layers.
