Reviewer: Steveicook4u, Location: Rileyville , Va, Occupation: Kitchen manager Finally After searching and trying several other jackets , I have found the ONE that fits ! Good quality nice features happy customer , that's what business is all about .
Reviewer: jhbdlub, Location: NC Nice lighter weight Jacket This is a very well-made jacket that is just what I was looking for. Most jackets are either very thin or very heavy. This is a great lighter-weight jacket that's heavy enough to keep the wind out but not so heavy to be too hot or bulky. It's roomy enough if you need to layer. The only thing I would change is the same thing other reviewers have said. The bottom pockets for the hands would be the right size for a kid's jacket. I wear a large because I have broad shoulders but a small waist. My hands are large and the pockets don't even cover my whole hand. If they're going to put hand warmer pockets they should be big enough for your hands. Otherwise a great jacket. Maybe these reviews will make it to Carhartt and they will revise the jackets for future purchasers. Hope this helps.
Reviewer: oldie2002, Location: Rapid City, South Dakota, Occupation: Retired heavy equipment operater in open pit coal mining. This is a very nice jacket! I'm retired and really don't need to wear Carhartt's work quality clothing. I just do because I can. I like well made items and Carhartt does that very well. This Flint jacket is no exception. I was considering an Active jacket, but wanted something lighter to wear for taking walks and running errands. I already have a Sierra jacket with it's sherpa lining. I also own a Rockford rain jacket that is also dressy enough to wear around town. My wife is impressed with Carhartt quality, so I've bought her 3 different jackets she's fallen in love with.
I'm 5'9" and weigh 185 pounds. The large Flint jacket fits me perfectly. People have criticized the small pockets. I don't think they were designed to carry anything. I believe they are hand warmer pockets and serve that purpose very well. This jacket has just enough extra room for layering and with a sweatshirt underneath, it will be warm enough for very cold winter days. It's very versatile and I may end up buying a black one in addition to the breen I own now.
Reviewer: Currents, Location: Woodacre, CA, Occupation: Naturalist Great lighter weight jacket! - Allows wide range of motion and fits well OK - I read the reviews about the small pockets - they are kind of small but are positioned well and do not seem to be a problem (I bent over and shook the jacket several ways, with my car keys in the pocket - and they did not fall out, unreasonably). The material is excellent, the coat is well made (in Mexico - alas), it fits well to allow wide range of movement without being baggy. Ample room for a vest underneath. Really, the perfect stout, lighter weight jacket.
- I'm thinking about ordering another one to be ready when they discontinue it (?%#@$!).
P.S. - The "Breen" is a very neutral grey that blends into many environments.
