Nice new QDuck Material is smooth and not so stiff Really good design from Carhartt. New QDuck material is great, resist water, tough yet smooth and not so course and stiff. Brushes off clean. Warm Too for it contains decent insulation. Only issue is with the large loop in the collar for hanging on a hook is right at shirt collar height causing the loop to keep pushing down on a shirt collar. March 1, 2013
Only complaint with this excellent jacket I will never understand why a company like Carharrt would skimp on such a simple and inexpensive component as the hood drawcord locking system that is used on this item. I really like the fit, style, pockets and quality on this jacket. It is deceptively warm. With a little bit of layering you can wear this down into the low 20s and be plenty comfortable. BUT, the drawcord on the hood doesn't hold the hood where you want it..thus when you wear this in the wind you are not going to be happy. Hopefully this issue is mitigated as the jacket wears in and the hood is less rigid. I may resort to trying to replace the locks myself? Otherwise, I highly recommend this jacket. February 16, 2013
I like the pockets I lived in nome alaska for several years. there it's alaska chic to be dressed in carhearts head to toe. in my years there I saw temps. range from 80 above to 60 below with a 60 mph windchill. carhearts are put to the test every day. this new quick duck will be very popular as it is water repellent and there is plenty of pocket storage that I wish was in my old jacket. THE HOOD IS OUT OF PROPORTION AND THE DRAW-CORD IS A POOR DESIGN EVERYTHING IS GREAT ABOUT THIS JACKET. ACCEPT THE HOOD. IT IS OUT OF PROPORTION AND THE DRAW CORD IS A TERRIBLE DESIGN. AFTER SENDING THE JACKET TO A SEEM STRESS, AND SPENDING A ADDITIONAL 45 BUCKS DID THE JACKET/ HOOD FUNCTION THE WAY IT SHOULD BE INTENDED TO. I ONLY WEAR CARHARTT JACKETS, NEVER HAD A PROBLEM UNTIL MY 12TH JACKET. HOPEFULLY THEY READ THIS OVER AT THE DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT DEPT. OTHER THEN THAT IT'S A QUALITY JACKET AND GOSH DARN-IT IS IT WARM, AT LEAST FOR CHICAGO WEATHER. March 1, 2013
