Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice lighter weight Jacket This is a very well-made jacket that is just what I was looking for. Most jackets are either very thin or very heavy. This is a great lighter-weight jacket that's heavy enough to keep the wind out but not so heavy to be too hot or bulky. It's roomy enough if you need to layer. The only thing I would change is the same thing other reviewers have said. The bottom pockets for the hands would be the right size for a kid's jacket. I wear a large because I have broad shoulders but a small waist. My hands are large and the pockets don't even cover my whole hand. If they're going to put hand warmer pockets they should be big enough for your hands. Otherwise a great jacket. Maybe these reviews will make it to Carhartt and they will revise the jackets for future purchasers. Hope this helps. January 7, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by The Ultimate Jacket My job eats sweatshirts! Over the course of 3 years working in the grinding department of a bronze foundry I burned through 5 of them. It was definitely time for something a little more durable. Spent several weeks researching many different companies' jackets and trying on and every single one I could find. I was seeking something durable, but lightweight and easy to move in. Something stylish (with lots of pockets), and warmer than a sweatshirt (but not too warm). Basically the perfect work jacket. Very glad I chose this one! Runner-ups were the Burr jacket by Kuhl, and Jefferson by Carhartt (both good jackets worth looking into). This jacket was $50 cheaper than either of the runner-ups, and fit my requirements better. It feels awesome and looks fantastic. The sleeves may seem a bit bulky at first, but are actually great for slipping over sweatshirts and allowing very free movement. Fabric is very strong so far: holding up well through two months of heavy duty work. The zipper is especially high quality. As stated in other reviews front pockets are small, but great for hand warming. I am 5'8, 140 lbs and wear medium everything. Like most Carhartts, Flint jacket seems to run a touch large which worried me a little in the beginning but within a few days felt just fine. Small would have been too restrictive for me: not allowing freedom of motion or room for layers. Anyway, I just want to say thank you Carhartt. This is the best jacket I have ever owned and I hope it lasts forever. Five stars and strong recommendations! December 12, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by This is a very nice jacket! I'm retired and really don't need to wear Carhartt's work quality clothing. I just do because I can. I like well made items and Carhartt does that very well. This Flint jacket is no exception. I was considering an Active jacket, but wanted something lighter to wear for taking walks and running errands. I already have a Sierra jacket with it's sherpa lining. I also own a Rockford rain jacket that is also dressy enough to wear around town. My wife is impressed with Carhartt quality, so I've bought her 3 different jackets she's fallen in love with. I'm 5'9" and weigh 185 pounds. The large Flint jacket fits me perfectly. People have criticized the small pockets. I don't think they were designed to carry anything. I believe they are hand warmer pockets and serve that purpose very well. This jacket has just enough extra room for layering and with a sweatshirt underneath, it will be warm enough for very cold winter days. It's very versatile and I may end up buying a black one in addition to the breen I own now. July 10, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by BAD POCKETS I bought this knowing the pockets were small. Turns out they are not just small they are very small. Cell phones, keys and wallets fall out. The rest of the jacket is great, with a sizing that allows for some heavy under clothing like a sweat shirt. Looks good enough for casual wear and tough enough for work or hunting. PLEASE FIX THE POCKETS. April 16, 2015

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Jacket A very, very good lighter jacket. The drop tail and general fit assists with law enforcement or CCW holders. The fit is generous enough for multiple layers once colder. It is August and I haven't worn it much - but I am looking forward to giving it a full workout this fall. I'm very excited to have found this "rare" Carhartt Unlined Jacket. August 21, 2014
