Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Coat -- Better Company Beautiful coat. Solid. Ruggedly constructed. Very satisfied. Does run large. I am 6'1 and 275 pounds and can wear this comfortably with a hoody underneath. XXL would be huge. January 14, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great work jacket in an open warehouse! This jacket is NOT water proof. It's not marketed as one. It's water REPELLENT. I work in a warehouse where occasionally I need to unload a truck on a forklift in the rain. Which usually means less than 5 minutes. For that kind of exposure to rain this jacket is perfect. If I had to work maybe on roofs or out in the field where I'd be outside for extended periods, this would probably not be the best jacket for me. I am on my feet in a very physical, fast paced wood shop for 10-12 hours a day. This jacket is BULKY. If you are a medium(38" chest,32"waist), you should get a small. I couldn't adjust the fit scale on my phone for some reason. That's probably the only thing bad about this jacket. It's marketed as an "active" jacket but the fit is bulky. I've had this jacket for about 2 months. I tend to get holes in my work shirts and various abrasions from tools, sharp materials like melamine, laminates, and rough materials like granite sometimes. The only signs of serious wear I see is the little carhartt patch on the front is starting to come off at the sides. I give it maybe another 2 months before it finally falls off. The pockets are outstandingly convenient, this jacket is very comfy and very very warm. But in Houston it only gets down to around 30-32 degrees at its coldest. Normally at around 40-50 degrees. Rated 5 out of 5 by Toughest jacket available I just recently purchased a second one of these Jefferson active jackets. They fit great, are extremely comfortable and warm, and can withstand the toughest of climates and working conditions. Highly recommend! November 30, 2015

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great coat all around. I purchased this jacket a couple years back, when I was still doing landscaping/tree-work/hardscaping/concrete. Basically I was outdoors constantly, and wasn't sure if this lighter weight QD coat was going to do it for me. Well, I am very pleased to report that has met and exceeded any and all expectations. It's not so heavy you feel weighted down (even when I was on tree climbing duty) but it's thick enough, I can't recall ever being cold. I would recommend this jacket to anybody who is going to be outside, and active. If you're just sitting in the artic ice fishing or something? Maybe go with a coat with full lining, but either way, this thing will not disappoint. February 21, 2015

Rated 4 out of 5 by Great coat but need inprovement I like the coat warn in -1 below wind chill. I was looking for a warm nice looking coat for winter Carhartt products are the best. This coat is good but needs improvement. It is the best coat like it I could find. If you zip the coat all the way up to keep the wind out There's not enough room for you chin if you tuck your chin in the collar. If you have your chin above the collar it chafes your chin. Redesign in that area would help. The draw string on the hood doesn't work well If you adjust the hood the beads used to keep the paracord from slipping don't hold. A strap or flap to cover the chin and mouth and close up the hood a bit when really cold or windy would help. I am glad I bought the coat it is the best like it I could find and would recommend it.
