Best Carhartt sweatshirt I have bought
May 9, 2017

From: Wasco, IL Age: 45-54 Gender: Male
Have a lot of Carhartt sweatshirts and this is best one I have purchased. Got on sale at a distributor. Size is perfect. Cant wear hoodies at work anymore so this fits the bill perfectly. Wish they had in Black or Red as well. Perfect for a short time in light rain, wouldnt go out in heavy rain with it. Sizing was same after two washes, hung dry.

How about Rain Absorber?
April 26, 2017

From: Ottawa, KS Age: 65+ Gender: Male
My wife got me one of these for Christmas 2016. Wore it out in a light rain today April 27. Absolutely no rain was defended against. Rain didn't even bead up but soaked right into the sweatshirt. The tie that adjusts the bottom of the jacket doesn't work. This is a real waste of money.

Poor Design. Not worth the high price
March 27, 2017

From: Buffalo, NY Age: 45-54 Gender: Male
My expectations were not met with this sweatshirt, especially with the high price in comparison to other carhartt sweatshirts. The single toggle for the bungee draw cord does not work. The bungee cord is not thick enough in diameter for the toggle "to bite" and hold the bungee cord. After drawing the cord tight thru the toggle it simply releases after slight movements. The other issue is with the collar/zipper. The side of the collar/zipper that has the storm flap won't lay flat as the other side of the collar does. The storm flap side of the collar/zipper just stays up in your face irritating you. I purchased three of these sweatshirts this winter and all of them have these problems. If you purchase this heavyweight sweatshirt with the intentions of having the waist tighten with the bungee drawcord to keep out the cold and to not have the collar stick in your face. Save your money!! Don't buy this sweatshirt!! Not the same quality in design as the other carhartt products I have purchased over many years.

Very Comfortable Jacket
January 26, 2017

From: Covington, Kentucky Age: 45-54 Gender: Male
I've had several Carhartt jackets over the years and my one complaint has always been how bulky and stiff they were. This jacked is not only warm but lite weight and has great range of motion. It has a wealth of pockets both inside and out, more than I think I'd ever need. The hand warmer pockets are lined to keep you hands a little warmer behind the cotton shell. The one trade off is the thinness of the cotton shell over the durable cotton duck. Within a month, I had torn the shell when I snagged it on a sharp steel corner. A couple passes thru the sewing machine stitched it up but I am mindful now that the shell is not as durable as the heavier cotton duck fabric. All in all I'm quite impressed with this jacket and seriously considering purchasing another and keeping this one for my work jacket.

Overall a great shirt, could be improved with a few small tweaks.
January 17, 2017

From: Detroit, MI Age: 25-34 Gender: Male
My only reasons for not giving this shirt 5 stars is unlike most Carhartt shirts this one is not available in tall sizes and the cuffs are durable but are longer (the elastic portion) than previous sweatshirts I've purchased from Carhartt, which is not as comfortable or as aesthetically pleasing.

super warm!
December 27, 2016

From: Los Angeles, CA Age: 35-44 Gender: Male
Runs a little bigger. Im an XXL and it is way to big. I didn't returned it because I thought it would shrink after super high heat in the dryer. it doesn't shrink. So next time, I will order a XL.

Incrediblly versatile sweatshirt
December 24, 2016

From: Bronte, TX Age: 35-44 Gender: Male
Incredible sweatshirt!....... Warm, comfortable, and looks great! It's heavy (warm) enough to wear with just a t-shirt base layer. But, if the temp drops, you can stack a long sleeve shirt underneath. Or, use this sweatshirt as a mid-layer with a heavier jacket. Doing either will significantly change your overall level of warmth. It's just an extremely versatile piece of outer wear! As for the "Rain Defender" aspect...... Honestly, I was pretty skeptical at first. I mean, afterall, it's a sweatshirt! You don't buy a sweatshirt with the intentions of doubling as a rain coat! Right?!?....... Literallty! The day it arrived, it was raining! So, I thought, "well, I guess we'll put this whole "Rain Defender" business to the test!"........And, I will be damned! They're absolutely NOT kidding! This thing actually keeps you dry! I have no idea how! But, it does! The water beads up along the surface, allowing a lot of it to simply just run off. But, here's the crazy part! The rest of the water will actually soak into the sweatshirt. And, for all practical purposes, the sweatshirt itself will be wet! BUT, somehow, by means of modern science, or maybe even some form of sorcery, (I dunno!?!) But, it still keeps YOU dry!!!! It literally blows my feeble little mind how this is even possible! Yet, somehow, some way, it is!..... And, lastly, the fit. I normally wear an XL in just about everything. But, in already owning a few other Carhartt products, as well as trying on a couple of different ones in the stores. I decided to go with a Large instead. Probably would've gone with a Large-Tall if it had been available. But, im very happy with the way it fits! Im 6'3", 225lbs. And, the large fits just about perfectly! But, if I could change anything about it at all, I might add just a tiny bit more length to the sleeves. Not a huge deal! Honestly, not even that noticeable. But, would make an already awesome sweatshirt that much better!
