MY DAD LOVES THIS HAT We bought this hat for my dad, a large animal veterinarian for christmas one year. At first he thought it looked strange until he wore it! Once he did he LOVED it. In North Dakota it's not just cold it's very very windy! This cap kept his head and ears warm. With the velcro flaps it stayed on his head in the wind while working outside. We have bought him another one so that while one is being clean he has one to wear. You can image how dirty it gets being a large animal veterinarian. As mom says they clean beautifully! If you live in a cold climate you need this hat. My only problem is the hat is not made in youth sizes so that my nephews could look just like their Papa. Making it in woman's colors wouldn't be bad either. I work on the farm and it would be nice for me. December 7, 2011
Can't beat this bomber I live in serious winter country. I needed a hat that would really keep my nogin warm and dry. I found it in this Carhartt bomber. The under chin flap keeps my cheeks and jaw warm too. And when folded up, the flaps can adjust to just the right amount of cover. The brim keeps rain, snow and sun out. I live on really large acreage and lost this hat outside for an entire year. Just found it, washed it, mended some mouse damage and its good for another 5 years. December 6, 2010
Good for Cold Weather I live in Wisconsin and work on a lot of projects around the house so I am outside for hours at a time. I have found this hat to be exactly what I needed to keep my ears warm. I prefer a hat with a brim so that if I need a hood also, the brim holds the hood out of my line of sight. My only complaint is that I don't like the chin strap. I feel it gets in the way and I never strap it under my chin. I would prefer if the sides simply hung down. December 30, 2012
