Leather Fencer Glove (#A553)
Gloves are high quality and I like the elastic at the wrist to help keep out dirt.

Really good product
This pair of gloves is really good if you use them for the right thing. They are very heavy duty and thick. kind of stiff at the beginning. I used them to prune roses and liked how i worked with them. Didnt even have to worry about getting pinched with thorns. I also used them when i was removing big shrubs of rosemarys. They will be too stiff to use on light duty jobs.

Best work glove
I've tried a lot of different work gloves. The Leather Fencer glove is by far the best out there. As a vineyard owner, the daily tasks require both dexterity and durabilty- these gloves deliver on both.

Excellent gloves for barbwire & roses
The first pair I purchased were tight fit & stiff & thick. I soon broke them in while building a five wire fence, a half mile long. Still going. I would hate to be without them. The second pair I purchased for my 20 year old grandson to use. They were fit good , were soft & easy to get on, but only lasted about a week. They were not near as tough as first pair. I recommend these gloves for barbwire & roses, but not for general work around the farm.

Excessively long pinkies
I buy Carhartt very frequently due to the high quality.
When these gloves came in, the tag on them stated something like "garden gloves" and nothing about "Fencing gloves". They are, however, a thick leather and aren't low in quality.
My biggest complaint is the fit on the pinkie. The pinkies are approximately 1 inch too long, which makes using the gloves rather difficult.
I have average sized hands and most other gloves do not over-fit my hand like these do.

Not what they used to be
This is the second pair of gloves that I have bought. The First pair I bought about 2 years ago and were very durable and made of good leather. Since that point they must have change how or where these particular gloves are being made. I ordered LG on my first pair, and they where a hair big, and stretched a bit after sweat and wear (my hands measure 8" from tip of middle finger to base of palm), I order LG again and this pair is a hair snug but should fit after sweat and wear. Though they did add a better more updated double thumb, that wraps from Around the thumb, and stretches down along the palm below your thumb, the leather itself is lower grade and thinner. Seems as though every time you find a decent glove, which is hard to find in the first place, corporate America goes and cuts some corners then charges the same price leaving people unsatisfied as compare to the original product and left to start the arduous search for the quality they once knew. With that said there is a good chance that these are the best you will find relatively easily. Don't know about there durability yet as I have just begun to wear them, but over all initial thoughts on the quality have greatly diminished since buying my first pair.
