Tight around the waist, Heavy duty hunting pant
July 5, 2017

From: Tucson, AZ Age: 35-44 Gender: Male
Before I get into the review I should point out I went with these pants for a couple specific reasons - 1) Carhartt offers sizes that fit me. I typically wear a 36" or 38" waist and a 36" length. So many of the hunting pants on the market offer generic sizes that never fit me or they stop at 32" length. 2) I needed something heavy duty. I hunt southern Arizona between 4000 and 5000 feet. Rough terrain and lots of cacti, jagged rock, ocotillo, and just about everything else that will tear your pants up first time out. So with that being said, overall like the headline states these pants fit tighter than expected around the waist. I opted for a 38 even though other Carhartt pants I own and just about every pair of jeans is a 36 and once they break in fit a little loose and need usually need a belt to keep them up. I wanted the extra space in case I add a layer during December and January hunts. Good thing I went larger or I'd be sending them back for sure. They were TIGHT around my waist. So much so that I had to wear them a little higher on my hips to fit them comfortably. Not a big fan of that but I decided to keep them and give them a run out scouting to see how they hold up. I spent an entire day covering 5-6 miles in a desert basin in late June when it is bone dry and rough in Arizona and realized these pants are definitely well-suited for the nastiness down here. No damage despite some real thorny sticky ridges and washes and they even repelled some of the cactus spines before they could penetrate the fabric. Big plus there. Comfort was as expected. These pants are heavy and feel just like a tough work pant, meaning they're pretty stiff, at least at first. Once I got out in the field I didn't notice anything about them, so that's a good thing in my book. My only other minor issue is the appearance. I go with Realtree Xtra in just about all my hunting gear and the pattern on these pants definitely looks faded compared to every other piece of Realtree gear I own. I don't know if it's a limitation from the fabric or what but it is clearly noticeable. Out of the box they look like they've been through 2 years worth of washes. But the deer won't care. The pattern will still do what they're supposed to do, which is help break up my silhouette and blend in to my surroundings. I got these pants to hunt in, not to make a fashion statement. Overall I would recommend these pants if you want a heavy, rugged hunting pant that will stand up to some nasty field conditions but with a strong caveat regarding the waist size. Maybe mine are a fluke.

Excellent quality, fit and comfort.

From: Ontario Age: Over 65 Gender: Male
Would have given a 5 if I could have ordered in 29 in leg. They have now been shortened so I am not breaking my neck on a ladder. Right thigh pocket should hold most cell phones, a little snug for my LG but at least I won't be losing it. I am a real believer in Carhartt and they really did well with these camos. I think I will probably wear them exclusive they are so comfortable.

Great All Around Pants
October 31, 2016

From: Charleston, SC Age: 25-34 Gender: Male
These are just great pants. A little ruff but that is what I look for in work and outdoor pants. This usually tells me they won't tear up in the first season. If you are thinking about them then just buy them.

Great Pants as long as you don't go into the woods
January 20, 2016

From: Age: 45-54 Gender: Male
the pants look great, fit great but if you spend any real amount of time walking in the woods thru deer brush the front of the pant legs just get ripped to shreds so you will have to purchase several pairs every year, which they would make them with a heavy duty double front.

Awesome...except for waist sizing
December 31, 2015

From: Age: 25-34 Gender: Male
Awesome pair of tough pants, camo pattern is perfect. However I needed to return these to get a 38in waist. The double duck pants I have are perfect at 36in, for some reason these are much much smaller

Great Hunting Pants! Sturdy and Rugged!!
November 20, 2015

From: Sun Prairie, WI Age: 55-65 Gender: Male
These quickly became my "go to" hunting pants. I bought them large enough that I could layer underneath and still be comfortable. They do run large, so it was easy to do. I love the duck fabric as it just laughs at briars and plows easily thru the nastiest brush. I will be getting another pair very soon so I always have a spare pair with me. You will love these for hunting, wearing for work pants, or just doing chores outside. You won't be disappointed!!!
