This is my second duck chore coat. My first one I purchased in the early 90's I believe. The old is still in the closet and very faded and soft. Excellent quality!

Third one!
April 2, 2017

From: Stirling Heights, MI Age: 65+ Gender: Male
Can't do without one of these at the cottage and one at the home. Second best jacket I've ever hade! The one that beat it was the old style without a lining. This one is fine for any task. Quality, durability and style, Will continue to buy these jackets.

The body of the coat fit fine but the sleeves were gorilla length.(five inches too long). I won't send it back because the freight, time, inconvenience and effort would be about the same if I were to take it to a shop for modification. The last coat like this one lasted 20 years I'm seventy years old so this is probably my last chore coat. Regards Bill

Great Coat, but huge!
March 5, 2017

From: San Jose, CA Age: 35-44 Gender: Male
I bought this to replace my Detroit Duck Jacket that was 10 years old, but was faded because I have washed it so many times. I felt like switching styles. I'm 5'10", 135 pounds and I wear a size 36 suit. Admittedly, I am very slender. My Detroit Jacket (in size small) fit me like a glove. This coat, which I ordered in size small, was huge. It's a full 5 inches wider through the body, the sleeves are 2 inches larger in diameter and 1.5 inches longer overall compared to the same size in the Detroit. I was swimming in it. I loved the look of the coat, but I had to return it because of the fit. The coat looks great in person and there is no doubt about its quality, but if you're a small guy like me, then this style won't work for you.

Classic look, plus simple and durable.
February 18, 2017

From: Western New York Age: 55-65 Gender: Male
I recently purchased the classic Carhartt Duck Chore Coat-brown with the blanket lining from Dungress.net. I prefer buttons over zippers for their durability and the metal buttons that come on this jacket are similar to what is found on traditional denim jean jackets. I appreciate the riveted-reinforced pockets and rivets at the stress points, along with the triple-stitched main seams. The duck material is fairly water resistant and quite windproof. I don’t like a snug or fitted jacket. I prefer loose and comfortable for layering and ease of movement. I’m in-between a 2-XLarge-Tall/ 3-XLarge-Tall in the Carhartt coats. I ordered the 3-XLarge-Tall and it was a bit big and stiff, however; no problem. I have a method with good success to wash a new and stiff canvas duck that softens and shrinks it for a better fit and drape. I washed it three times in succession in the washing machine with warm water. The first washing was with liquid laundry soap liquid fabric softer in the final rinse. This was followed by washing and rinsing in fabric softener. I dried in medium heat. It was a much better fit for me out of the dryer-with a softer, broken in feeling.
