This coat is great! I could not be happier with it. I work for BNSF Railway in the Pacific Northwest and need a durable coat for working around railroad equipment. It is also fits well with layering, although it is warm enough with just a sweatshirt when the temperature is around the freezing level.

Wash before wearing to soften
January 27, 2017

From: Norfolk, MA Age: 55-64 Gender: Male
When I first tried on this coat, obtained it by mail order, I thought the fabric was too stiff, but I needed something that can repel rain and snow. So, I tried washing it before wearing it on a regular basis and that made all the difference.

Water Resistant? Not Really
January 24, 2017

From: Beacon, NY Age: 65+ Gender: Male
Solid quality. This a rugged and durable coat, virtually indestructible. Branches and thorns won't tear it. Rolling on concrete doesn't phase it. The zipper is heavy and reliable. Pockets are spacious and deep, and stay attached. It needs another layer to be really warm, but is just fine if you are working. In real cold it is windproof and the black color soaks up the sun, too. The only problem I have with this coat is its water resistance, or lack thereof. It is water resistant in the same way a roll of paper towels is water resistant; namely that it takes some time to soak through. But soak through it does and it holds plenty of water once that happens. A good drenching and you won't be wanting to wear it the next day, either. Because it is so absorbant, drying out takes some time. If you buy this coat make sureto pick up a can of Camp Dry at the same time.

Wears you out wearing the coat
January 23, 2017

From: Dallas, TX Age: 65+ Gender: Male
Wearing it is like wearing a suit of armor. Difficult to move about, difficult in bending and getting up and down. Works fine if you are standing in place and not planning on moving around. Strength and Durability are really good.

January 13, 2017

From: New Hamburg, Age: 55-64 Gender: Male
When this arrived and I took it out of the bag, it was had to unzip it. I then tried the coat on and spent 10 minutes trying to zip it up and could not get it started! Representative said to try putting bar soap in the zipper. I did that and managed to get it up and down, but it was so stiff, I can't imagine fighting with the zipper all of the time, so guess I'll return it as defective. I'm afraid I'll be out the postage both ways!!!

Warm and Rugged
December 27, 2016

From: Hadlyme, CT Age: 35-44 Gender: Male
Warm and Rugged This along with layers is used under 32 degrees, if it's much warmer and your working it may get a bit to warm. Hoods a great addition, hood could be a bit deeper for more coverage I'm a lean 6'5 230lbs I find that the large Tall fits great but the sleeves are a bit short. The tall could be taller. Will take some time to break in. It's very tough and durable, wood dust and debris to lodge into the fabric weave but can be easily dispatched The time I have spent in the rain it stayed dry and warm. After my purchase I bought them for my crew.
