Originally manufactured for the Alaska pipeline workers, this coat is durable with a water-repellent, 1000-denier Cordura® nylon shell. The shell acts as a barrier between you and the bitter cold wind. It is lined with Carhartt arctic weight lining to keep you warm all day long.

•  100% Cordura® Plus nylon in 1000 denier
•  Water-repellent polyurethane finish on underside of shell fabric
•  100% nylon quilted to polyester arctic weight lining
•  Under collar has snaps for optional hood
•  Zipper front has wind flap with hook-and-loop closure
•  Extra-large front pockets and two chest pockets with Velcro flap closure
•  Two inside pockets

Excellent cold weather jacket I wish I would have bought this jacket sooner. I work on in very cold conditions through much of the winter and this jacket keeps me warm. The ballistic nylon shell is very durable, I have caught in on barbed wire several times with out snagging or ripping. The jacket blocks out most of the wind also. March 28, 2013
Second best purchase I have to admit I am jealous as Carhartt employees Have an easy job selling a product that sells itself,I Have a second coat that fits great, warm in the 10° Freezer and the attached hood is also a great fit And warm . Best Purchase Ever! I'm always cold. I've never owned a coat that was warm enough that I would leave the house in winter when it wasn't mandatory. I bought this coat a couple years ago, and I now go walking with my husband, even in the coldest weather. It's strange feeling the bitter cold on my legs and face, and almost sweating under my coat. It's durable, has plenty of large pockets- my ereader fits in one just fine! I got the optional hood, too. I tell everyone I can, if they want to be warm in winter, they NEED this coat! Just ordered a new one After more than ten years this coat is still in pretty good condition it keeps me warm with just a tee-shirt underneath and I am by no means a polar bear. I used to work in a factory now I am a teacher and I wear this coat with a shirt and tie no problem! I am buying a new one because I can't imagine using any other coat and the old one is getting too beat up for work (small stuff - broken zipper, Velcro loose) more cosmetic than functional. I love all the pockets (6 in all) the two front ones are huge, keep your hands warm and won't let you loose the things that you put in them. A word to the wise GET THE OPTIONAL HOOD its an extra 30 bucks but well worth it. January 1, 2013
