I fix water leaks and as you can imagine the wintertimes it gets cold. these boots are not as warm as I thought. the rubber around the base of the boot is nice and cleans off well but after 3 months it started to crack. overall awesome boots.

Rated 3 out of 5 by GR312 Sweaty feet...not so breathable
I recently purchased these boots and after one full week of heavy use outdoors (10+ hour days) in negative/single digit temperatures, rain & sleet conditions, rough/snow covered terrain; the boots held up to the test - 100% waterproof. My feet stayed warm and dry from the elements (key word - ELEMENTS). Nonetheless, my feet wound up wet due to excessive sweat.
The LiteFire® waterproof breathable insulation (a metallic material of sorts) that is used in these boots is not very breathable from my experience. My feet felt damp half way through the day and really squishy towards the end of the day making the last few hours of work uncomfortable to walk in. Honestly, it felt as if my boots did get wet from the elements. It is inevitable that your feet will sweat, however, my feet have never felt so uncomfortable in other boots due to sweaty feet nor have they sweated as much as they have in these boots. I feel that these boots make your feet sweat more than usual.
Additionally, the metallic material (LiteFire insulation) that is lined inside the boot stays kind of damp overnight (don't seem to dry off), which is concerning since it is supposed to be breathable. Each morning I have reached inside the boot to feel if it has dried off but it feels damp as far as the lining goes. Also, the two separate insoles inside of each boot provides great comfort but retains moisture. The one good thing is that you can remove both insoles, paper-towel them dry and lay them out overnight to fully air out. Having to do this at the end of each day is rather inconvenient and becomes somewhat of a daily chore - no fun.
The boots are slightly bulky and heavy, which is to be expected from a PAC boot but not when compared to other boots in the same category. I cannot attest to the quality and durability of these boots as I have only had them for one week. I really like these boots and wish I could love them if it weren't for the issues I have encountered in keeping my feet at least semi-dry from my own elements. I cannot fully recommend them solely based on my personal experience and will likely return them soon.

this boot does not fit . look at the photos , ankle is to small to get your foot in . if you get your foot in and it swells you won't get it out . I found little to no insulation , eyelets may not handle cold weather since they are soft metal or plastic . I have had carhartt's products before and never a problem but this is not one of those.

Rated 2 out of 5 by ItalianDragn Great for almost a year, then downhill quickly
I do rental property maintenance. Thought I would get a couple years out of these, they wore out in about a year, but stretched it another 6 months until they started coming apart. Super comfortable and love how the toe is super durable but the black bottom half is falling apart and the black fabric above the rubber in the back started ripping about 7 months in. Very disappointed that they didn't last as I was extremely happy with them for the first 6 months.
