well built coat
March 4, 2017

From: Southeast Michigan Age: 45-54 Gender: Male
The coat is very well built and made to last. For example, there is triple stitching in many areas and a very heavy duty zipper. As others have pointed out, the outer shell is rougher or coarser than some other products. It is not cotton like some of their other coats. I am guessing this will make the coat last longer. However, I am also guessing that some people would prefer the Carhartt coats that have a cotton outer shell, but with the same level of insulation. Some people indicated it was stiff. It seems to break in. But note that you are not dealing with some light outer shell. It is not a light windbreaker type of thing. It also is not as flexible as Carhartt's coat that has a cotton shell, but which basically seems to have the same insulation as this coat (but no attached hood). I have one of their coats with the cotton outer shell and heavy insulation. It has lasted a long time, but it is looking a bit worn. I considered purchasing another one just like it. It is definitely different in terms of the stiffness of the outer shell of the new coat. It is also a very warm coat -- probably about as warm as you can find. It also fits well.

Good coat

Very warm. The only thing I don't love is the stiffness of the fabric. It is very loud...it swishes whenever I move.

Good Buy
February 28, 2017

From: Wallington, NJ Age: 65+ Gender: Male
I just replaced by original Carhartt jacket, which I had for at least 10 years with the Extremes Active Jacket . It is just what I was looking for to protect me while working in a very cold warehouse. 3 stars for comfort because the material is stiff but will eventually soften the more I wear it. The Carhart t products are worth the money. Thank you.

Better than I expected
February 25, 2017

From: New Jersey Age: 45-54 Gender: Male
I know Carhartt makes a great product, I have always worn the overalls and insulated coveralls (artic). I wanted a jacket that I could use while out on short errands without bulk. This is the perfect jacket for that. I recommend this jacket if you're looking for a short jacket without bulk and keeps you extremely warm!!!! Also, this jacket is very comfortable for driving, doesn't bind you.

Good Jacket For Price
February 13, 2017

From: San Clemente, CA Age: 25-34 Gender: Female
I am a 5'2" (120 lbs) women and bought a men's small jacket. I had tried a small of a different model in store just to get the size. Do not like the women's jacket because they are too fitted and short. The men's small is a little large and very puffy on me. Definitely keeps you warm and dry in rainy weather (40+ degrees F). Takes a while to break in. Have had it for 2 weeks, and after washing it with vinegar the hood still stands vertical. Excited that I will have this jacket for many years to come.

Great Coat, Warm
February 12, 2017

From: Lake Stevens, WA Age: 35-44 Gender: Male
I took this to the Tanana River in Alaska during a snow machine trek looking for a lake. Temps got down to -22 during the day, this coat with 3 base layers, kept me very warm to work. The hood is a little stiff and prevents you from looking back while on the snow machine, and the zipper is pretty tough to pull up, but that's all because the coat is so darn tough that it takes some manning to get it to move for you. Comfortable and awesome.

I'm very interested in the jacket, but would like a choice of colors please Carhartt. Even Henry Ford eventually offered customers a choice in colors.
