Outstanding!
I work on New York harbor and the wind is awful plus it's wet or at least damp all the time. This jacket, which is really a short heavy coat is so warm and wind proof and it keeps the light rain and spray off me and my body heat in. I'm from FL so the cold here is demoralizing but if it's over 50 outside I overheat when I'm working. For my job I have to just stand in the cold for hours and this jacket really does the job when you can't move around to keep warm. I wear a carhartt helmet liner under the hood and I'm happy standing on the bow in the wind catching lines without layering! I wear small and it's a size big for me. I say this because it fits under my a J55 (small) arctic coat, snugly but I can still move, for crazy warmth when I have to stand in the cold and can't move around to generate heat. It's roomy enough for layering but you probably won't have to, this is a super warm jacket. If you're from up north it may even be too much. Buy this and stay warm!

EXCELLENT WARM COAT WITH HOOD.

Top Quality American Made!
Runs a little large compared to my old jacket of the same size XL, Very well made and despite being thinner that I expected kept me very warm during our last snow storm in Amarillo. American Made is also the main reason I bought this jacket.

Excellent Jacket
I'm a pretty big Carhartt fan, as this is my third jacket from them, as well as two beanies and one of their higher end pairs of work boots. All of their products are outstanding. Wearing Carhartt on a job site, or even just out and about, gives a real emotional boost since their logo, when seen, is perceived by most to be a sign that the wearer is a hard worker and serious about his equipment.
After three of their jackets, I do have one bit of advice. I will avoid machine washing and drying my newest one at all costs. It seems their wrists begin to fray pretty badly after multiple washes. I'm sure this is normal on nearly all brands of jackets, but just something to keep in mind. I will be washing mine with soap and a wash cloth, some Febreeze, and letting it air dry.

Plyable, durable and warn
This Jacket is not stiff. The outer shell is tough and resist rain. Putting it on feels like a heater was turned on. It does the job plus it looks darn nice.
