Changes :(
April 7, 2016

From: Age: 20-24 Gender: Male
I own three of these jackets and i love them. But it seems the quality in the newet one is not up to par with the older coats. Zipper seems cheaper, pockets are smaller, sherpa lining is different. Needs to be changed back to the original design thanks

Perfect for midwestern winters.
March 19, 2016

From: Central Indiana Age: 25-34 Gender: Male
I've used this coat through two winters now, and I couldn't be happier with it! The sherpa lining keeps the heat in well and is very comfortable. The hood is sized and shaped well and does a great job keeping the wind and rain out in open farm country. It has plenty of pockets, exactly where you need them. I really like the "tapered" fit, gives you room to move around freely and still keep the cold out. I have a 33" waist, and the Medium is a perfect fit, can even fit a hoodie under it comfortably if needed for extended periods in temps near zero. The light brown color blends in well with tree bark and dead foliage, ideal for the outdoorsman. This is the best coat I've found for outdoor activities in the cold months, I'll be buying another color here shortly. Money well spent!

Great jacket!
March 8, 2016

From: Age: 25-34 Gender: Male
Tried on an XL at my local hardware store and it was too short. Got on the website when I got home and ordered and XLT and it fits perfect! (I'm 6'4" and 260lbs.) this coat is the perfect mix of comfortable and tough. I tend to put jackets through the ringer as a commercial fisherman and this thing holds up amazingly. My only complaint is that it is really, really warm and it hasn't been cold enough to wear it more! Thanks Carhartt for making a quality product.

A great jacket that will last a very long time
March 2, 2016

From: Age: 25-34 Gender: Male
I just purchased my second sandstone sierra jacket with the sherpa lining, not because the first needed to be replaced but because a Large Tall fits perfect, my first coat was a hand-me-down and is an XL Tall and was big in the body. I am 6'2" and 195 lbs and a Large Tall fits perfect. There is room to layer up underneath and there is plenty of length in the sleeves and body. My only issue with the coat is the zipper seems to be a bit cheaper than older carhartts, not sure if this is because they are being made in Mexico now or what but it is not as smooth as other coats. I have never worn this coat in rain so i'm not sure how well it sheds water but I wear it all winter through snow storms and its nice and warm. I typically layer up under it with a hoodie and down vest on cold days (-20c or colder). Huge fan of the storm cuffs and prefer the non-elastic waist (as seen on the bomber jackets) as it never rides up on the waist. Good storage in the pockets. The only change I would make is to have large, square, deep pockets with flaps and velcro versus the side slit style. Overall, my favorite jacket that I have ever owned. Great product.

Great Jacket for about 35-55 degrees
February 4, 2016

From: Austin Texas Age: 45-54 Gender: Male
The fuzzy lining makes this a colder weather jacket. Colder is mid thirties up to about 55-60 , "I live in central Texas". So this is a Good December-January jacket for me. I am a big guy, 4X Tall and it fits great. Very comfortable. And looks good too. Hood is huge and sometimes gets in the way driving but I and glad to have it.

Not perfect
January 31, 2016

From: Age: 18-19 Gender: Male
One of the two inner pockets is not as pictured. In the picture it looks to have a zipper closure. On mine it is a velcro closure. The front pockets are not sherpa lined!! This coat has been changed from what is on the website. The body of it runs a bit short and the sleeves are very bulky. This is a very warm coat. Should be plenty for anyone that dosnt have to work outside all winter in below zero temps. Other then the velcro on the inside pocket everything seems up to normal carhartt standards. Just wish the product matched the picture. For those interested the tag says made in mexico.
