Rated 5 out of 5 by Keeps Food Warm I usually pre-heat my food jar (hot water in the jar while I heat up my food to go in the jar), but even when I don't (when I'm in a hurry), the food jar keeps the food hot for a few hours and is still warm by lunch time. What I like about this food jar is that I can "cook" some dehydrated meals while I'm working at home or am on the road. Depending on the food type, I pre-heat the jar, remove the hot water from the jar, put in the dehydrated food and cover with boiling water up to an inch below the top and screw on the top well, but not tightly, or I cannot unscew it when I'm ready to eat the meal. This food jar is a time-saver for me when I'm hauling gear and food and don't want to break food containers or have spilled messes in my gear bag. Great for backpacking and hiking, especially in the cooler weather when you want something hot or at least warm to eat when you stop for a break. I've had my food jar for several years and have had no issues with it. Bought this item at a Meijer or Wal-Mart store. When I bought mine, it was in the green color. February 26, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good product however... I have got this jar in 2014. Using it every day for soup or stew. Jar keeps warm food up to 12 hours in moderate ambient temperature if it is cold outside then we are talking about 8 hours. After two years metal lid separated from plastic cap - no big deal. Worst happened. Rubber gasket broke and I cannot find replacement. Question was sent to customer service last week and only automatic reply was received. December 19, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Most good Bought three for the school boys. Fill them in the morning with hot food and they still need to let it cool by lunch time. Seals on lid come off easily and then tend to get lost. February 25, 2016
