When I was a boy of ten, I bought my father a Stanley coffee thermos for Xmas. He was always breaking his coffee thermos as he was a farmer, banging them around. none of them lasted long. So that is why I bought him a Stanley. A couple of years later, it fell off the tractor and he ran over it. It did manage to put a bit of a dent in the side of it, kinda gave the thing a somewhat rugged appearance. I am now 60 years old,Dad is long gone, but I just finished drinking a cup o joe out of that old beat up thermos. Still keeps the coffee hot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Nando Great box for work but...
I've had this lunch box for almost a year. I'd like to think I take pretty good care of it but It's developed some rust in places where the paint has chipped off. Nothing a new paint job won't fix. What kind of paint should I use? I was thinking spray paint but what would be safe for food? I really like this lunch box, I use it for work and get lots of compliments.

One of the most durable lunch boxes for any construction setting whether it's for cutting timber or operating heavy equipment.
Let's see the dog chew through this one.

Good size, like the blue color. this thing is pretty close to being indestructible too. I don't think it can be beat.

Ok. I'm not a nut, but- I had to live on s boat once for a year... No utilities, and also work related had to live in a big truck for a few months as well. I RELY ON STANLEY. It gets real cold.... And real hot when you live that way. I have owned more Stanley products than I can remember. Two? Three dozen? I carry ice tea, or coffee- drive up to 36 hours non stop ( I'm not a driver by profession so I'm not subject to mandatory rest periods ). I often carry multiple thermoses and I own two of these lunch boxes. I have had original dome tops from the 60's and 50's, and they weren't built this well. The hinges are super strong and the steel super thick. You can't break this. I like it because it's strong enough to hold lunch for two or. Three days? And I keep a 24 oz food jar in the lid. I ate out of it from little rock to sanfrancisco non stop. 1981 miles. I carry tools in the other box, and the back up bottle.everyone that sees it wants one, so it has a cool retro look. But, before Stanley started making them I got another brand and the hinges were not near s strong and it would bust open. This one never had, I suspect I have 30 pounds in it with my tools and coffee. It's never failed . I may get a third.

Rated 5 out of 5 by victorvswann BEST THEY MAKE
ok, I have given up on their vacuum bottles. But!! The lunchboxes are heavy steel, tough and the best made. A league apart from copycats. better than the antiques i own from the 40-1950. These are excellent

So pleased with this lunch box!! It really servers me well . I have to pack my lunch the night before I head out ... The design is awesome because there is no wasted space including the lid ... The hinges are very strong . The latches keep the lid closed. The metal is heavy gauge and the paint job is flawless ... Oh Btw the handle works great too. I highly recommend this lunch box! Its like a break room when you flip it open....The only problem I had was a colony of stinkin ants got inside ... so I ordered the Stanley food storage containers problem solved ! I have had it since 2014 still going strong!!!

Bought this lunch box just off the pictures and info posted on the Stanley website and some online video reviews. I didn't physically get to handle and inspect the box in person before ordering, so it was basically sight unseen except for those pictures and video reviews. I have to say it absolutely exceeds my expectations. Just the heavyness of the metal itself and the weight of the box is way beyond what I expected. I figured it's just a lunch box, so it would be sort of lightly made with steel that would have quite a bit of flex to it, but I was mistaken. The heft and feel of this box and the gauge of the metal rivals a good quality steel toolbox. I honestly expected less. The size is perfect, I would definitely go with this 10 quart box over the 5 quart one. I will absolutely consider future purchases of Stanley products. I previously had a Stanley 1 quart vaccum bottle and also a Stanley 24 ounce vaccum food jar that I bought new in 1988 when I graduated high school and went out into the world to get a job, and those both served me well until recently as they both rusted out in spots which made small holes in them and didn't work as good as they used to. Sadly I threw them away, I had them so long and didn't realize they have a lifetime warranty, I don't know if the warranty covers that type of problem but even if it didn't, I believe 27 years of using something day in and day out, I've got well over my money's worth out of them and they didn't owe me a dime. This box appears to look as though it will go just as long if not even longer. Really impressive. Hard to get high quality items anymore these days but I believe Stanley products are the exception. Very happy, keep up the quality work Stanley.
