Rated 5 out of 5 by Hiker chick Best camp coffee ever
Received as a gift - at first I thought it was rather bulky and big in size but I decided to put it to the test. I add water to the thermos the night before. I store coffee grains in the cap. Come morning I just pour water from the thermos into nesting pot and bring to a boil then adding premesasure coffe. After several minutes I press the coffee and place half in my travel mug and half back into thermos and seal. I then place a couple of small individual creamers into the storage part of the cap. And off I go for the days' hike. Upon returning to the car after a 16 or so mile hike there is the luxury of fresh pressed coffee awaiting for me. Best gift I ever received. I cannot wait to use it camping with the person who gave it to me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tempered Case Versatile and fun to use
I received this system as a gift about a year ago and immediately put it to use. Working outdoors in the remote wilderness, some days all I have to look forward to is a cup of hot coffee. This press system allows me to do just that. All parts work just as advertised and the bottle keeps liquids hot for hours. Additionally I've found that the boiling pot and strainer is useful for cooking/heating soups etc. as well... I absolutely love this product and I get lots of compliments and comments from friends and crew when I use it. If I have any suggestions to Stanley at all, I would like to see the folding handle beefed up a little. Although I've had no trouble with it, it seems a little weak and flexes when pouring a full pot of boiling water. I've been careful in using and it works fine however.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MusicMan82 Great for camping in freezing weather
Received as a gift. My first time using it was camping in sub 30 degree fahrenheit weather. After brewing the coffee, the vacuum sealed canister kept my coffee hot for hours. It allowed me to enjoy my coffee since it actually stayed hot.

Perfect camp coffee system. I spend a lot of nights during the summer under the stars and i've owned quite a few coffee systems/ways to brew coffee in the woods. This is by far my favorite and best. Great buy for the price and makes a great cup of coffee.

Rated 5 out of 5 by mercyp It doesn't get more perfect than this
THIS is the thing that stops so many people from camping...the perception that they have to "suffer" out there and can't enjoy the comforts of home. Instead, Stanely said, "Oh no, nobody goes without coffee while camping...not on our watch!"
The entire system might look a little bit like overkill, but when you keep in mind the fact that the components are all useful for other purposes (I hate one-hit-wonders when it comes to packing up gear...my stuff has to be multi-functional or it's not going with me!), this system does far more than just make coffee.
First of all, they thought of everything with this kit. The bottom (outside) layer is the pot to heat your water, complete with latching pre-installed handle. Just give the small button a squeeze to lift it up or put it down. This layer is obviously a great pot for heating up your meals too, especially if you pre-pouched it and just need to reheat with a hot water bath. The next layer is the French press plunger, and yes, if you pour really, really carefully, you can strain other foods with it (like pasta) when you're not making coffee. The next nested layer is the famous Stanley vacuum bottle, so basically you use your kit to make a whole pot of coffee and then pour it into the bottle to keep it hot. The lid that closes the bottle actually has a small twist off lid the store your coffee grounds, and the exterior lid twists apart to form two cups.
They've kinda thought of it all here!
There are some things you'll need to keep in mind. 1) When you heat water in the bottom pot, it's going to get black on the bottom. Just have something secure to set it on that won't burn through and won't get black char everywhere. Remember that black char on the bottom of your cook sets only means you were out there having fun! 2) The whole thing is metal, so obviously it's going to get hot. Don't try to "nest" the parts again until the outside of everything is cool. I know, you'd think this is obvious, but if you're new to French pressing your coffee or taking care of all this in the woods, it's easy to forget. 3) The images make it look like the "plunger" part of the French press is plastic and glass, but it's not. Those open spaces in the image are...well...open. Don't push down too hard thinking this thing can handle the force because you could end up splashing boiling coffee on your hands. 4) And I hate to say this one because this product is otherwise the Holy Grail of making coffee in the wild, but it's not light. If I was absolutely addicted to coffee and I could make sure that this item was the only thing I had to pack for cooking (other than a Biolite stove, or something), I could probably get away with using it for backpacking. Otherwise, it's absolutely perfect for car camping, RVing whether you're off the grid or not (because hey, it's a French press! They're awesome!), tailgating, hunting, setting up a base camp for several weeks, etc.
Coffee is one of those things that just makes or breaks a great camping trip for some people, and with this thing, there's no reason to suffer with instant or try to drink around the grounds. There's also no reason to hightail it into town at the crack of dawn just to get fast food drive-thru coffee. You will not be sorry you invested in this!
