Tough fabric that will hold up.
I use this jacket when I am trail riding. It needs to be tough enough to stand up to the brush and just being tied up behind the saddle.

The perfect outdoor, lightweight jacket for the outdoorsman.
My husband loves this jacket. He had been looking for one like this for some time. This style of jacket was made years ago. A very hard-to-find product.
Great for walking through the brush country and nice enough to wear all day long.

Just what I have been searching for!
This jacket/coat is just what is needed in S Texas year round for turning the brush and working and being in the outdoors here. Timeless styling, and top of the line quality make this a sought after authetic South Texas style. I have the first one I bought 40 years ago and have finally found another to replace it. I have gotten loads of queries as to where I got it!
This coat should be a regular item in your catalog!

Excellent for brush country
I have owned two of these brush coats. The first one finally wore out after several years of punching cows in the brush of Southeast Arizona. It was a while before it was offered again, and as soon as it was I ordered another one.
This is just what it claims to be, a brush coat. It will protect against the scratches and pokes normally delivered by mesquite, acacia and squaw berry along with the other usual culprits found in the desert Southwest. I hope Carhartt keeps this product on the market. It is truly a cowboy garment, no frills; nothing fancy but very functional. The breast pocket is just the right size for my talley book.
